Cosmoledo Booby and Tern Colonies

An Important Bird Area with Seychelles' largest colonies of all three booby species, the Indian Ocean's largest red-footed booby population (about 15,000 pairs), the biggest sooty-tern colony in Seychelles at the north of Wizard, and Caspian terns found breeding in 2023.

Practical

IDC calls Cosmoledo the finest unprotected site in Seychelles. Rats have been cleared from Polyte and Grande Ile. Green turtles nest in large numbers. Keep well clear of breeding colonies. Coordinate is approximate: Wizard Island (OpenStreetMap).
