Conception Island Dive (Conception Rocks and Arena)

Conception, a 131 m granite island 2 km off Mahé, is ringed by some of the west coast's most dramatic dives: big granite swim-throughs, schooling great barracuda, dogtooth tuna, eagle rays and seasonal grey reef sharks and whale sharks.
Practical
Big Blue Divers: Conception Rocks 0-25 m (snorkelling possible) and Conception Arena 15-30 m deep dive with a large swim-through; both have surge and/or current. Coordinate is the island's mapped centre on OSM (approx for the dive sites, which are not published). The island is a wildlife reserve for the critically rare Seychelles white-eye; do not land without permission.
