Port Launay Snorkelling Trail

4° 39.3′ S · 55° 23.6′ E · approximate

SPGA's marked underwater trail through Port Launay's reef, with interpretive stops for seaweed meadows, urchins, parrotfish, branching coral, clownfish, giant brain and bubble corals and 200-year-old Porites heads.

Practical

The Moorings recommends the rocks to the right of the bay and the area around the cross that marks the mouth of the bay. Download the SPGA trail leaflet before you go. Coordinate derived: near the beach on the bay's reef edge, not a surveyed trail start. Park ticket required; whale sharks sometimes feed in the park in season.
