Port Glaud and L'Islette

4° 39.7′ S · 55° 24.4′ E · approximate

The lagoon village of Port Glaud looks out on the tiny islet of L'Islette and its restaurant; at low tide a sandbar links it to the Port Launay south beach.

Practical

Coordinate derived: a point about 140 m off L'Islette's mapped coast toward Port Glaud, checked to be in the water. There is no published anchorage survey here: the area is shallow lagoon, with rock formations appearing at low tide (Seyvillas), so approach only in good light on a rising tide and anchor outside in deeper water if in doubt. Ashore: STC Port Glaud Supermarket, Port Glaud police post, Del Place restaurant and Holala Beach Bar (OSM).

Best for

A lunch stop off the lagoon with supplies ashore
