Booby Island

4° 15.6′ S · 55° 40.4′ E

A tiny, densely vegetated granite rock between Praslin and Aride, named for the boobies that nest on it, and the site of Booby Rock, one of the best dives in the Praslin area.

Practical

Coordinate from Wikipedia (4°15'36"S 55°40'23"E), north of Praslin and south of Aride - about 11 nm west-northwest of La Digue (derived from the coordinates), so it pairs better with an Anse Lazio or Aride day. SeyVillas (Booby Rock): about 25 m, groups of up to 15 grey reef sharks, eagle rays, stingrays, turtles; good visibility year-round. No landing facilities; uninhabited. Dive with a licensed operator; snorkel only in calm water.

Best for

Shark dive or calm-day snorkel north of Praslin
