Anse Major

4° 37.5′ S · 55° 23.1′ E · approximate

A tiny, road-less bay of white sand and giant granite boulders inside the Morne Seychellois National Park, a real taste of pristine Seychelles. Mostly a lunch stop; room for about two boats.

Practical

Coordinate derived: placed between the OSM 'Anse Major' bay label and the beach, checked to be in the water against OSM coastline. The Hacking family position (04°37.8'S 55°23.9'E) plots about 1 km inland on OSM, so do not use it. Holding 'not great' (Hacking family); no moorings. Very exposed to the NW monsoon; use in settled SE trades. Day visits fit the national park ticketing: The Moorings eGuide lists Rs200 per person plus Rs250 for an overnight boat. A small beach bar sells snacks and drinks (Seyvillas), otherwise no facilities. Snorkelling is decent along the rocks; the fringing reef shields the beach from swell. The Moorings itineraries include Anse Major paired with neighbouring Jasmin Bay as daytime stops.
