Squalicum Harbor (Bellingham)

48° 45.4′ N · 122° 30.4′ W

The Port of Bellingham's big harbour on the north-west side of the city, home to about 1,800 pleasure and fishing boats. Visitors side-tie on dedicated docks, with restaurants and a hotel on the waterfront.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM dock 3D at Gate 3, where visitor side-ties start. Hail the harbour office on VHF 16 or call 360-676-2542 on approach and staff will assign a berth. Visitor side-tie docks at Gates 3, 9 and 12, with Gate 5 used when busy. Bellingham Yacht Club reciprocal side-tie is in front of its clubhouse at Gate 3. Pump-out carts at all visitor docks, fixed pump-outs at Gate 1 (by the fuel dock) and Gate 10 (by the launch). Gas, diesel, power, water, ice. Depths inside 9-12 ft (2.7-3.7 m). Enter from the south-east between the breakwaters or from Squalicum Creek Waterway to the north-west. Loan-a-Slip for stays up to 14 days. Large groups call ahead. Bellingham is a customs port of entry (Coast Pilot), but CBP's pleasure-boat list for Puget Sound names Friday Harbor, Anacortes and Point Roberts.
