Melanie Cove (Prideaux Haven)
50° 8.5′ N · 124° 40.6′ W
A long, narrow arm off Prideaux Haven, very well protected and popular with sailboats and smaller boats. At its head are the traces of Mike's homestead, made famous in the coastal memoir The Curve of Time.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM bay point. Part of the Prideaux Haven Designated Sewage Area: no sewage discharge. Stern-tie along the sides; seven chained mooring eyes were added here in 2016, and the very middle has a little swinging room. Same entrance as Prideaux Haven: round Lucy Point and favour the Eveleigh Island side. Excellent shelter. No camping or services; no fires.
Best for
Calm nights, swimming, history walks
Season
Jun-Sep; crowded Jul-Aug
