Lyall Harbour (Saturna Island)
48° 47.8′ N · 123° 11.0′ W
A large, well-protected harbour on Saturna's west side, with the ferry landing, a public wharf, a fuel dock and a pub at its mouth. The village store is up the road at the head of the harbour.
Practical
Coordinate is the anchorage position given by Vancouver Island Marinas (entrance 48 48.09N 123 10.98W). Plenty of room to anchor in the inner harbour; check depths on chart 3477. Well sheltered; the ferry landing near the entrance brings some wash, and gusts are reported over the low land at Boot Cove in strong winds. Boot Cove next door has 3.7-5.5 m (12-18 ft) but is crowded with private moorings. CRD public wharf beside the ferry dock: about 60 m (200 ft), open year-round, no power, water or showers, commercial fishing boats have priority; pay at the honour box. Gas and diesel at the fuel dock below Saturna Point Store.
