Kendrick Island Anchorage (Gabriola Passage)
49° 7.4′ N · 123° 41.4′ W · approximate
A sheltered pocket behind Kendrick Island at the east end of Gabriola Passage. Cruisers use it to wait for slack before running the pass westbound against a flood.
Practical
Position is approximate, in the water between Kendrick Island and Gabriola; check depths and rocks on chart 3475 before anchoring. Cruisers rate it larger and better sheltered than Wakes Cove for waiting. Current from the pass still reaches in, so set the anchor well and keep watch. An informal campsite is reported on the south Kendrick islet. Silva Bay's fuel and services are close by.
