Gorge Harbour Anchorage (Cortes Island)

50° 5.7′ N · 124° 59.4′ W

The wide, sheltered basin of Gorge Harbour offers many anchoring spots away from the marina. Small islets and quiet shoreline coves give a choice of shelter. Ochre pictographs are reported on the cliffs around the narrow entrance.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay point. Large all-weather harbour with several good anchoring spots; we could not confirm depths, so use chart 3538. Federal Designated Sewage Area (Mansons Landing and Gorge Harbour): no sewage discharge. Watch for the Bee and Stove Islets and private moorings near the shore. Dinghy to the resort for the store, fuel and restaurant.
