Drew Harbour Anchorage (Rebecca Spit, Quadra Island)

50° 5.9′ N · 125° 11.6′ W

A broad, sheltered harbour on the east side of Quadra Island, protected by the long sand and driftwood finger of Rebecca Spit. It is a favourite anchorage on the run between Desolation Sound and Campbell River.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM point for Drew Harbour. Anchor almost anywhere in the harbour; the most popular spots are close inside the outer (north-west) tip of the spit, which also gives the best shelter from northerlies. The spit protects well from south-east winds. We could not confirm depths, so use the chart. Taku Resort marina is on the west shore; one cruiser reports dinghies are not welcome there, so the Heriot Bay Inn dinghy dock is the usual landing for the village, a longer ride. Groceries at the Heriot Bay store.
