Comox Valley Harbour Authority Marina (Comox)
49° 40.2′ N · 124° 55.6′ W
The public harbour at the east end of the Comox breakwater, home of the fishing fleet and two blocks from the shops of downtown Comox. It is the usual guest moorage for boats starting or ending a Desolation Sound trip from Vancouver Island.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM harbour office. 121 Port Augusta Street; phone 250-339-6041; VHF 66A. About 2,100 ft (640 m) of docks; in summer the fishing boats are moved together so the other floats are free for visiting pleasure boats. 20, 30 and 50 amp power, holding-tank pump-out, garbage and recycling, waste oil, washrooms, showers and laundry. Fish sold off the boats most evenings. Fuel at the Gas 'N' Go marina nearby (gas and diesel). The Town's own municipal marina says temporary moorage varies, so call ahead. Comox Harbour is shallow and sits behind Goose Spit: approach round the spit following the navigation aids and your chart. From here Lund is about 20 nm across the Strait of Georgia.
