San Pedro Cove Anchorage (Linapacan)

11° 28.1′ N · 119° 44.0′ E

A small sandy cove just SW of Linapacan's Northwest Bay, protected from everything except the northeast and somehow immune to the persistent NW swell.

Practical

Hackingfamily (Aug): 11 28.11N 119 43.98E in 28 ft (8.5 m) sand, shoaling gradually; room for a few boats. No approach hazards (pearl farms start further into the bay) but do not cut the corner: the reef sticks out over 0.25 nm. No cell at anchor, but a mooring on the left as you enter is in sight of the Globe tower (on Linapacan's SE arm, about 11 24.3N 119 59.6E, roughly 10 nm range), handy for email by dinghy. Snorkelling disappointing (rock and weed).

Best for

Swell-free sleep in the SW monsoon

Season

Good except in NE winds
