Romblon Typhoon and Monsoon Weather

12° 35.0′ N · 122° 16.0′ E · approximate

Romblon sits in the middle of the Sibuyan Sea on the typhoon track; the harbour is where shipping hides when PAGASA raises wind signals.

Practical

Approx: plotted at the harbour entrance. The province is struck by typhoons in the rainy season (Wikivoyage); the Coast Guard suspends small-vessel travel when wind signals are raised. During Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (October 2024) a ship anchored for the weather near San Agustin, Tablas, had its anchor pulled out and ran aground (PCG via GMA); during Typhoon Ramil (October 2025) vessels sheltered in ports including Romblon. Storms are most likely in the habagat (roughly June–October); the amihan (about October–March) brings NE winds and seas to exposed east and north coasts.
