Pescador Island

9° 55.4′ N · 123° 20.6′ E

A tiny limestone islet with a lighthouse 3 km off Moalboal, ringed by a soft-coral slope that falls into a wall to about 40 m and an open-topped cave on the west side known as the Cathedral - the classic Moalboal dive.

Practical

Marine park and fish sanctuary since 1990; dive shops pay a per-diver fee managed by the municipality and the Moalboal Dive Center Association. Dives usually start at the south end and drift up the east or west side with the Tañon Strait current; visibility can reach 40 m. Dive trips from Panagsama cost about 1,500 PHP with gear (Wikivoyage, 2018 - verify locally). No anchoring on the reef - visit with a dive operator or tie to a park buoy if available; the island has access steps on its north and east sides. Lighthouse at 9.9228°N 123.3435°E (OpenStreetMap).
