Oslob Anchorage (Sumilon Channel)
9° 26.0′ N · 123° 22.7′ E
A position logged by a cruising yacht off the Oslob coast inside Sumilon Island, used to visit the whale-shark site and Sumilon by dinghy.
Practical
Flow (April 2013): 09°25.98'N 123°22.74'E - no depth or bottom given; check depth before committing as the coast shelves steeply. The Cebu Strait current runs through the channel between Sumilon and the mainland. Exposed to the south-east and to swell from the Bohol Sea; settled weather only. Whale-shark feeding boats operate off Tan-awan beach north of here every morning - keep well clear of the feeding area and do not run engines near the sharks.
