Monkey Beach Snorkel and Wall

13° 31.2′ N · 120° 59.5′ E

A small beach tucked under Escarceo Point east of Sabang, where the reef top drops down a coral wall - snorkellers float over soft corals and schooling fish while divers head for the yacht wreck at 24 m.

Practical

Position: OSM 'Monkey Beach' (a second OSM beach labelled 'Dunong Beach / Monkey beach' sits west at 13.52215N 120.98456E). Nigel Marsh (2024): descent down a coral wall to a yacht wreck at 24 m, with frogfish, garden eels, soft corals, featherstars, angelfish and triggerfish on the drift along the wall. This stretch lies inside the Escarceo Point current zone - snorkel only near slack water, stay close to the beach and watch for the current setting east toward the Canyons. Go with a Sabang dive banca or by dinghy in calm weather; there is no anchorage for a yacht.
