Malapascua Lighthouse Wreck
11° 20.5′ N · 124° 6.6′ E
A WWII Japanese wreck (described as a landing craft) lies in the bay off Malapascua's lighthouse, shallow enough to snorkel; the 'Lighthouse' reef nearby is known for pygmy seahorses and mandarin fish.
Practical
Coordinates are the 'Lighthouse' reef dive site in OpenStreetMap off the NW corner. Savannah (2014) quotes their dive guide that the wreck is easily snorkelled and the Lighthouse West site (best in the afternoon) can be reached by swimming from it; Katie Lee (2011) had to re-anchor because they were too close to the wreck. Webb also notes three Japanese wrecks reported 2-5 nm W and NW of Malapascua in 30-40 m.
Best for
Easy wreck snorkel from the lighthouse anchorage
