Loay River Harbour Anchorage

9° 35.9′ N · 124° 0.5′ E

A small, calm fishing harbour on the river at Loay, the only sheltered stop documented on Bohol's south coast between Tagbilaran and Guindulman.

Practical

Shangaied (via Sloepmouche, 2016, in the Philippines Compendium): 09 35.92'N 124 00.50'E in 10 ft (about 3 m) over mud in a small harbour; calm, well-sheltered water and good Globe internet. You may need a stern anchor to stay out of the main channel, because the river current stops the boat lying to the wind. Webb (2009): 'Difficult entrance, good inside'. Enter in good light on a rising tide and go slowly; shallow draft only. The Loboc River cruise and Loay's Sandugo historical marker are close by.

Best for
