Kontiki House Reef (Maribago, Mactan)

Mactan's best-known house reef: a coral slope and wall right off the Maribago shore, a few minutes by bangka from the resort dive centres, where macro hunters look for frogfish, mandarinfish, ghost pipefish and blue-ringed octopus.

Position from the wannadive.net listing (10°16.828'N 123°59.929'E, WGS84), which the site itself flags as approximate - treat as a guide to the area, not a mooring mark. Shore or boat access from the Hadsan beach cove at Maribago; boat time under 10 minutes. Corals from about 10 m, average dive 10 m, wall continuing to about 45 m. Current normally under 1 knot; visibility usually 10-30 m. Suits all levels and is widely used for courses, refreshers and night dives (MySSI listing calls it beginner-friendly and close to the airport). The only hazard listed is boat traffic - the whole east coast of Mactan is busy with island-hopping bangkas, so fly a dive flag and do not anchor a yacht here; go with a Maribago dive centre (several dive shops and supply stores line the Mactan Circumferential Road at Maribago, per OpenStreetMap).
