Kawasan Falls
9° 48.1′ N · 123° 22.4′ E
A three-tier cascade of turquoise spring water in the jungle above Badian - the 40 m top fall and its swimming pools are the finish line of Cebu's famous canyoneering trip down the Matutinao River canyon.
Practical
About 20 km south of Moalboal. Easy 30-minute walk up from the highway; bamboo rafts under the falls. Crowded at weekends - go early. Canyoneering tours start upstream and jump, slide and swim down to the falls (about 2,500 PHP per person in 2018, verify locally); the province revoked unlicensed operators in 2023 and reopened tours in October 2023 after rehabilitation and guide accreditation; in June 2026 it allocated 110 million PHP for further rehabilitation, so expect works and changing access. From a yacht, go overland from Badian Bay (Tomonoy) or Moalboal by bus or habal-habal.
Best for
Canyoneering and a freshwater swim
