Moalboal Town Fiesta and Kagasangan Festival
9° 56.3′ N · 123° 23.5′ E
Moalboal's mid-May fiesta honours its patron, San Juan Nepomuceno, with the Kagasangan Festival - named for the Cebuano word for coral - filling the town with sea-creature costumes, street dancing, music and food fairs celebrating the reefs.
Practical
Coordinate is San Juan Nepomuceno Church in OpenStreetMap, the 18th-century church (only the belfry and outer walls are original) that is the fiesta's focus. Wikipedia: the annual feast is held on May 15 and 16; the town declared May 16 a local holiday in 2022, and the 2026 fiesta included an Agri-Fishery Trade Fair (municipal site, May 2026). The Kagasangan contingent also competes in the province-wide Pasigarbo sa Sugbo festival in Cebu City. Expect busy roads, fully booked rooms and loud nights; banks and offices close on the holiday. Check the municipality's schedule for exact dates.
