Haligi and Minolo Reef Snorkel
13° 30.7′ N · 120° 55.0′ E · approximate
The quieter western snorkel circuit of the island-hopping tours - Haligi, Minolo and Cely Beach - with healthy reefs, clear water and far fewer boats than Coral Garden.
Practical
Position approx: OSM 'Minolo Bay' label; Haligi Beach and Cely Beach are not mapped in OSM and their exact positions could not be verified - ask the banca crew. The Abroad Guide's Route 4 groups Haligi, Minolo and Cely Beach as lesser-visited spots with healthy reefs, clear water and tranquil beaches; philippinebeaches.org lists Haligi Beach as a standard island-hopping stop (with Bayanan Beach, the sandbar and Coral Garden). Minolo Bay is also the multihull beaching/slipway spot (see entry). Protected municipal waters - no anchoring on coral.
Best for
Less crowded reef snorkel west of the harbour
Season
Nov-May; sheltered from SW-monsoon swell only in the lee
