Cogton Bay Anchorage (Candijay)
9° 51.0′ N · 124° 33.3′ E
A large reef-fringed bay on Bohol's east coast, open to the east but tucked behind a small island with excellent mud holding.
Practical
Splinter's Apprentice (July 2000, in the Philippines Compendium): 09 50.98'N 124 33.35'E. Large bay open to the east with some protection from reefs. You need good light to get in: the reefs on both sides are hard to see and extend a long way out. A course of 290 True on the south end of the island in the bay leads clear of both reefs with a least depth of 25 m. Anchor to the south-west of the island, clear of the fish traps, in 5-10 m, mud; holding excellent. Old report: check on current satellite imagery.
