Cathedral Cave (Coron Island)

11° 49.4′ N · 120° 16.0′ E

An underwater crevice in Coron Island's SE cliffs that opens into a huge air-filled chamber lit through a hole in the roof, hung with stalactites.

Practical

Sloepmouche (2017): black mooring ball about 100 ft off the cliffs at 11 49.37N 120 16.00E (day only); the site caretaker showed them the mooring and they anchored the dinghy in 10 m between mooring and cliffs. Entrance is below a very orange part of the cliff: a small, short, narrow crevice at about 7 m that drops to 12 m, then follow the sand slope up into the chamber and surface. A second, unlit chamber with very few air pockets is for experienced cave divers only (silt-out risk). Dive centres in Busuanga Bay run it too (Soggy Paws 2018). Scuba, or free-diving only if very experienced.
