Cabilao Island Anchorage

9° 52.2′ N · 123° 47.1′ E · approximate

A sheltered stop in the channel on Cabilao's east side, facing Sandingan Island and the Mocpoc pier on the Bohol mainland, where the outrigger ferries land at Cabilao's east-side pier.

Practical

Position approx: placed in the channel between Cabilao (OSM 9.8764N 123.7712E) and Sandingan Island (9.8531N 123.8008E), near the route of the Mocpoc-Cabilao bangka ferry (Wikipedia), and checked as open water on the OpenStreetMap base map. We found no published yacht depth or holding for Cabilao; sound in carefully, as the island is ringed by steep walls and reef tops. The channel is in the lee of Cabilao in westerly weather (inferred from the map). Cabilao's conservation rules say no anchoring on reef areas, use mooring buoys only (philippinedives.com, 2026). Island entrance fee PHP 100 one-time; marine sanctuary fee PHP 150 per diver per day, cash only. The island has few cars; motorbikes and tricycles get around.
