Todos Santos (Pueblo Mágico)

23° 26.8′ N · 110° 13.4′ W

An artists' town on the Pacific coast 40 nm north of Cabo Falso and about an hour's drive from La Paz, a Pueblo Mágico since 2006 with the 1723 mission, galleries, the Hotel California and surf beaches - and its lights on Highway 19 are the first sign of civilization for southbound boats after Mag Bay.

Practical

Position from GeoNames. No harbor or yacht anchorage is described in our sources - visit by road from Cabo San Lucas (the Todos Santos Art Festival is typically early February). From the sea, The Log notes the Magdalena Shelf narrows and ends around Todos Santos and that shrimpers and pangas fish day and night near Punta Gasparino and Todos Santos. From La Paz: about an hour by car on Highway 19; rental cars on the Malecón (Avis, National, Fox, Thrifty) or the Eco Baja Tours shuttle (Club Cruceros guide). Sights: Misión Santa Rosa de las Palmas (1723) by the plaza, Teatro de Todos Santos, galleries; the Hotel California is unrelated to the Eagles song despite the name. Main town festival in November (Virgen del Pilar). Pacific beaches have dangerous surf - swim only where locals do.

Best for

A land day by road from La Paz or Cabo while the boat is in a marina
