A short, well-marked climb to the cross on the hill behind Los Barriles, with views over the town, Bahía de Las Palmas and the Sea of Cortez.
Practical
Pin is the 'Cerro los Barriles' summit node in OpenStreetMap, just inland of the town center. Costa Palmas lists it as easy: 1.9 mi out and back, 370 ft gain, ending at a cross on the summit. Longer option: the Los Barriles Plateau loop (moderate, 4.1 mi, 797 ft) over the inland mesa; beach walks north and south of town (2.9-3.2 mi) often show dolphins, rays and, in winter, whales. Go early - no shade - and carry water.
