Punto Marino Chandlery (Mazatlán)

23° 16.2′ N · 106° 27.1′ W · approximate

Mazatlán has no big West Marine-style store, so cruisers piece parts together from a handful of small chandleries and importers near the marinas. Punto Marino, in the Reynaud plaza by Marina Mazatlán, is the chandlery Noonsite lists closest to the docks.

Practical

Noonsite lists Punto Marino at Reynaud Plaza, phone +52 669 913 5035, and a second chandlery, Julie Mazatlán, phone +52 669 116 0747 (both listings 2019, so verify locally). Noonsite's marine-supplies page (updated October 2023) warns that general marine supplies may not be easy to get. You can order through a redistributor near the marinas or an importer at the far northern end of town, which is two bus rides from the marinas. Shipping parts in from the US is possible but can be a problem. For yard work and installs, Active Marine Mazatlán works out of the Fonatur yard (see Mazatlán Haul-Out Yards). The free Mazatlán Cruiser's Guide has a current directory of recommended suppliers and a Spanish boat-parts glossary. Ask on the Mazatlán cruisers net (VHF 72, 8 am Mon–Sat) who has the part in stock. Some Mexican chandleries prefer cash because card readers fail. Coordinate is approximate: it's the Hacienda Reynaud shopping plaza on Av. Paseo del Atlántico in the Marina Mazatlán district (OpenStreetMap), which is assumed to be Noonsite's 'Reynaud Plaza'. Confirm the shop's exact unit before you go.
