Mazatlán Haul-Out Yards

23° 16.1′ N · 106° 27.3′ W

Mazatlán is one of the few places on the mainland coast north of Banderas Bay where a cruising boat can come out of the water. The government-built Fonatur (ex-Singlar) yard beside Marina Mazatlán has a travel lift and a cluster of contractors.

Practical

Noonsite lists the Fonatur Mazatlán yard at 23°16.10'N, 106°27.34'W, with 20 slips, a 50-ton travel hoist, fuel, pump-out, laundry and Wi-Fi. Active Marine Mazatlán (VHF 22), set up by the former Total Yacht Works team, works out of this yard and does GRP, paint, engine, electrical, carpentry, rigging and upholstery. When the yard opened in 2007, it hauled and launched for USD 7.14–8.82 per ft for 31–51+ ft boats (verify locally). Astilleros Pescadores Unidos de Mazatlán lists a 150-ton Travelift and steel, aluminum, fiberglass and wood work (The Log, 2023). Latitude 38 reports that commercial rail yards here have hauled boats up to 34 ft of beam, while the Fonatur lift is tight for wide catamarans. The Mazatlán Cruiser's Guide lists current recommended contractors.
