Los Muellecitos (Isla Partida North-East Shore)

24° 35.3′ N · 110° 22.9′ W · approximate

The rugged north-east shore of Isla Partida just south-east of Punta Maru and Los Islotes - the windward side of the archipelago, seen by most sailors only while rounding the top of Partida.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: read off the georeferenced zoning map (page 9) of the CONANP Espíritu Santo park rules compendium hosted by Club Cruceros; the same method reproduces the verified positions of Los Islotes and Isla Gallo to within about 100-200 m. Water point at the 'Muellecito' traditional hook-and-line fishing polygon off the shore. The east side of Partida and Espíritu Santo faces the open Gulf and takes the full fetch of northers; there is no published anchorage here, and cruising guides send boats to the west-side coves (El Embudo, Ensenada Grande, El Cardonal) or, in a Coromuel, to El Portico. Small-boat anchorage is allowed in the polygon but large-boat anchorage and fishing other than hook-and-line or rod are not. Keep at least 30 m from sea lions and 50 m from bird colonies (park rules). Inside Archipiélago Espíritu Santo National Park: every person aboard needs the daily CONANP bracelet (225 MXN/person/day on the CONANP page) or an annual Conservation Passport.
