La Manzanilla Village
19° 16.9′ N · 104° 47.3′ W
A small village in the southeast corner of Bahía Tenacatita, popular with Canadian and American snowbirds, with grocery stores, gringo-owned shops, cafés and palapa restaurants — the provisioning stop for boats in Tenacatita.
Practical
About three miles by dinghy across the bay from the Tenacatita anchorage. The surf builds on the beach through the day, so go early and come back before the afternoon. Several small grocery stores (abarrotes) and fruit vendors; Café del Mar for espresso; restaurants including Palapa Joe's and Martin's (OpenStreetMap). A crocodile sanctuary is at the northwest edge of town. A Saturday produce truck has also served the anchorage in past seasons (2009). ATMs are limited; bring pesos. Population about 1,600 (2020 census).
