Isla San Marcos North Anchorage

27° 14.7′ N · 112° 6.6′ W · approximate

A secondary anchorage north of Punta Piedra Blanca on Isla San Marcos's west side.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate, derived offshore of OpenStreetMap's Punta Piedra Blanca/Punta Islote. Club Cruceros notes rocky patches — watch where you drop the hook. Settled weather; check your chart for the shoreline. Divers: Piedra Blanca (27°14.033'N, 112°06.241'W) offers 30-ft column formations and a recommended night dive (S/V Ceilidh). The Log notes that the Trinity Coves on San Marcos are safer in south winds than the Sweet Pea shelf, with sea caves and snorkelling reefs.
