The rocky walls of the Carrizal cove are among the best snorkeling around Manzanillo, and crews anchored here have had whales surfacing close to the bow.

Practical

Position approximate: the rocky shoreline at the head of the cove near Punta El Carrizal (GeoNames). A Latitude 38 crew called the snorkeling 'excellent' (2021). Snorkel the rocky edges in the morning before any afternoon wind chop; visibility around the Costalegre varies with plankton and red tide. Swim from the boat or anchor the dinghy off the rocks.
