STENAPA Reef & Chien Tong Wreck

An artificial reef of a sunken barge, tugboat and pipe, beside the upright wreck of the fishing trawler Chien Tong - both now coated in sponges and coral, home to turtles, rays, garden eels and octopus, and a favourite night dive.

Approximate: estimated from the site's plotted position on the 2016 Statia Tourism dive map relative to Gallows Bay, Lower Town and the reserve markers (no published GPS position) (sites 25/25A, north of Lower Town). STENAPA Reef max about 20 m (66 ft), beginner, 5 minutes from the dive centres (Golden Rock); Chien Tong about 17-24 m (Scubaqua/dive map). Guided only.
