Shoal Bay East

18° 15.3′ N · 63° 1.9′ W

Anguilla's most celebrated beach: a long curve of powder-white sand on the north-east coast, with a reef just offshore and a string of beach bars and grills behind. A 2019 cruiser called it their favourite stop.

Practical

Shoal Bay Reef starts in 15-18 ft and drops to 30-85 ft, with stingrays, lobster and eels. The 'Captain Turtle' site (20-65 ft) has hawksbill and green turtles grazing the seagrass. Beach grills include Uncle Ernie's and Madeariman (OpenStreetMap). Marine park: Shoal Bay-Island Harbour, so no fishing.
