Green and hawksbill turtles feed in the reserve year-round, and leatherbacks occasionally nest - 2025 set a record with three leatherback layings in a few weeks, including at Flamands.
Practical
Position is Flamands beach (OpenStreetMap, approx for the phenomenon). Since 1982 only 8 leatherback nests had been recorded on St Barth beaches. If you see tracks, a nesting turtle or hatchlings: keep your distance, turn off lights, stay quiet and call the ATE emergency line 0690 31 70 73 before taking photos. Dogs are banned on all beaches. Respect nest perimeters.
