Scotts Head Pinnacle

Dominica's most requested dive: from 'Swiss Cheese' and the curtain of soldierfish in Soldierfish Cave, across to a pinnacle whose 35 ft swim-through opens onto a crater wall dropping past 120 ft, draped in deep-water sea fans.
Practical
Position approximate - inside Soufriere Bay just north of the Scotts Head isthmus, placed from the OpenStreetMap Scotts Head peninsula; dive boats use a permanent mooring. Dive only with an SSMR-approved operator (US$2 reserve fee per dive). Nearby: Crater's Edge (ridge running NW - jacks, rainbow runners, barracuda, giant barrel sponges), Scotts Head Drop-Off (wall 40-100 ft, vase and tube sponges), and on the Atlantic side The Condo, The Suburbs and The Village (advanced - currents, big fish). Currents vary with lunar phase; guides avoid strong-current sites.
