Saint-Louis & Folle Anse Beaches
15° 57.0′ N · 61° 19.4′ W
The long west-coast strand that runs south from Saint-Louis town past Folle Anse - easy swimming steps from the anchorage, lined with beach bars toward town.
Practical
Position is the Plage de Folle Anse polygon (OSM). Folle Anse also has the island's commercial port (Port Autonome de Folle Anse, 15.94185,-61.33707) - stay clear of cargo and ferry traffic. The Grand-Bourg coastal trail (2nd trace) links Maréchal to Plage des Trois Îlets, Folle Anse port and Saint-Louis beach: 4.5 km one way, 2.5 hours, easy, yellow markers; manchineel trees on the shore are marked red (tourist office).
Best for
