Pigeon South Anchorage (Anse de Pigeon)

16° 9.1′ N · 61° 46.7′ W · approximate

The open roadstead off Pigeon village south of Malendure, used by cruisers who want to be near the Cousteau reserve and the village shops rather than on the busy dive-boat beach.

Practical

Coordinate approx: about 200 m off the Anse de Pigeon bay node in OpenStreetMap (node 5315032401); the coastline here is at about -61.7756, so the point is in water - confirm depth, as the bottom shelves steeply on this coast. noforeignland reviewers: can be rolly in swell, holding varies with some poor spots, several grocery options nearby, poor dinghy dock. The Chantier Pigeon-Malendure listing notes supermarkets, a bakery, laundry and a petrol station within five minutes' walk. Do not anchor inside the Pigeon Islands reserve - use the park buoys there. Cruiser reports on Noonsite mention dinghy thefts around Pigeon and Malendure: lock the dinghy and lift it at night.
