Pigeon Islands Park Moorings
16° 10.0′ N · 61° 47.3′ W
The field of national-park day buoys ringing the Pigeon islets - the only legal way to stop a small boat right on the reef.
Practical
Position: one of the mapped mooring buoys on the east side of the islets (OpenStreetMap node 7098387485; about 15 buoys are mapped around both islets). Rules (park regulation): one boat per buoy, maximum length 8 m, no overnight use, fuchsia buoys reserved for professional dive and tour boats. Anchoring anywhere in the core zone is forbidden. Yachts over 8 m: anchor off Malendure and use the dinghy (tie to a buoy, not to the reef).
Best for
Day stop by dinghy or small boat to snorkel the islets
