Cousteau Statue Dive
16° 10.0′ N · 61° 47.3′ W
The underwater bronze bust of Jacques-Yves Cousteau sits at 12 m at the end of the Jardin de Corail drop-off on the Pigeon islets - the most photographed dive in Guadeloupe, with barracuda and wahoo cruising the wall.
Practical
Position: 'Le Jardin de Corail' attraction node in OpenStreetMap (node 4056316468) on the east side of the islets. Depth of the bust: 12 m (Les Heures Saines dive centre). The reef top is shallow enough for snorkellers to look down on the bust in clear water. Dive with a Malendure centre (they hold the professional buoys) or snorkel from a park buoy. No touching, no gloves on the reef.
