Nelson's Dockyard Marina

17° 0.4′ N · 61° 45.9′ W

The world's only continuously working Georgian-era dockyard, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site marina where yachts lie stern-to the restored 18th-century quay. Home base for Antigua Sailing Week, the Classic Yacht Regatta and the Charter Yacht Show.

Practical

Run by the National Parks Authority (non-profit; proceeds fund restoration and conservation). About 30 stern-to berths with bow moorings (ABYMA, Noonsite); Noonsite's business listing says yachts up to 220 ft LOA stern-to on a new bow-mooring system. Depth stern-to: 14 ft from the Paymaster's Office to the Galley Bar, shoaling to 8 ft toward the west end of the quay (ABYMA). Drop the anchor well out (almost to Antigua Slipway or the mangroves), use the mooring buoys for extra security but never instead of an anchor, and do not use engines near the restored quay wall: pull off on your anchor. VHF 68. Office hours Monday to Saturday 8 am to 5 pm (NPA). Services: 3-phase power, water, waste oil, 24-hour security, high-speed internet, showers, laundry, customs and immigration on site, Dockside Supermarket and chandlery nearby. Harbour Master +1 268 464 6941; office +1 268 481 5021/22. Phone or email for rates; berth fees are in addition to National Parks fees. NPA channel-sweeping work in the main channel was scheduled for August to October 2026 and may disrupt access.
