English Harbour Customs, Immigration & Port Authority

The clearance offices inside Nelson's Dockyard serve both English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour, and are the most popular place to clear into Antigua from the south.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap 'Customs' node in the Dockyard. Procedure (ABYMA): fly the Q flag; only the master goes ashore; Port Health first, then Customs (clearance from last port, General Declaration), Immigration (passports, ED cards, crew lists), back to Customs, then Port Authority, where entrance, rubbish, anchorage or dockage and cruising-permit fees are paid; US and EC dollars accepted, cards Visa or Mastercard only. Clearing out: Port Authority first, then Customs and Immigration; you must leave within 24 hours. Pre-arrival notice online via eSeaClear (used in Antigua since 2012) or SailClear; a 2026 Noonsite reader arriving from St Lucia was asked to use SailClear and delete the eSeaClear notice, and the whole clearance took about 10 minutes. Yachts arriving via Falmouth Harbour also clear here; anchor in Freeman's Bay and contact Nelson's Dockyard Marina for the health inspection (Noonsite, 2021). Cruising permit is separate from a fishing licence (Fisheries Division). Crew leaving by air must be signed off in person with proof of onward travel. Fees change often: verify locally.
