Grand Case Anchorage

18° 6.5′ N · 63° 3.5′ W · approximate

A wide sandy bay off the 'gourmet capital of the Caribbean' - anchor off the village, dinghy in to the restaurants and lolos, and snorkel Rocher Creole at the point.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: open water in Baie de Grand Case off the village, checked against the OpenStreetMap coastline. Good sandy holding in about 10-20 ft. Good in E to ESE trades; swelly and choppy with any northerly component. Central dinghy dock, often crowded. Balaou floating bar in the bay. During Les Mardis de Grand Case (March) keep 150 m from the fireworks barge. Super U (Hope Estate) is about a mile's walk or a short bus ride.

Best for

Dinner ashore in Grand Case

Season

Nov-Apr in E-ESE trades; untenable in northerly swell
