17° 8.3′ N · 62° 37.8′ W · approximate

Nevis's port of entry: Customs, Immigration and the Port Office share the second floor of a stone building with yellow trim at the head of the Charlestown ferry pier - one stop to clear in and pay for moorings.

Practical

Position is approximate - the head of the Charlestown ferry pier (OpenStreetMap 17.13878, -62.63099), from the ActiveCaptain directions. Procedure (2016 report): land at the dinghy dock just south of the ferry pier; go to Customs first (EC$30 / US$12 for up to 60 days), then Immigration next door (no fee), then the Port Office for port dues and moorings (EC$125 for a week in 2016). No overtime charges and no departure fees; you only need to check out with Customs. Later reports (Noonsite): Feb 2020 EC$112 port authority for a 15.9 m boat with two crew; May 2024 the Port Authority quoted head tax US$5 per person, environmental levy EC$4 and port dues EC$60 for vessels under 150 GT, while one boat was charged EC$536.50 for 10 days and disputed it. noforeignland users (2026) rate the office 2.8/5 for slow service and unclear fees - ask for an itemised receipt. Complete SailClear (choose Port Zante if Charlestown is not listed), the knatravelform.kn ED form and CARICOM eAPIS first. If you cleared in at St Kitts you still report to the Port Office here for moorings. Free Wi-Fi around the port building; the Blessings lunch spot is upstairs at the other end (2016).
