A reef-protected beach park just west of Port Allen beside the traditional Hawaiian salt pans, with a calm swimming area and tide pools.
Practical
Seasport Divers: 3-8 ft, snorkel on the left side of the beach; tide pools; restrooms and showers. HAR 13-256-55: the Salt Pond Park restricted area (from 500 ft east of the Salt Pond Road centerline extension, about 1,250 ft along the beach) is designated for swimming and bathing - no vessels may operate or moor there. Coast Pilot: in heavy weather breakers extend 50-150 yards off the southeast side of Puolo Point. Coordinate approximated just northwest of Puolo Point (GNIS 21.89273, -159.60462).
