Vasiliki Harbour

38° 37.6′ N · 20° 36.4′ E

The harbour at the head of Vasiliki Bay on Lefkada's south coast, a windsurfing town with ferries to Kefalonia and Ithaca and a newly enlarged port.

Practical

Sailingissues.com (updated April 2024 and October 2025): the port has been massively extended with EU money, but the new outer pontoons are blocked by buoys and cannot be used; the outer basin was being dredged towards 4 m with laid moorings still to be installed. Plenty of safe berths remain in the inner (old) basin, although swell still gets past the new breakwaters. Berth requests: Stathis Vasilatos, +30 697 445 8024. my-sea: bow- or stern-to at the piers; mud, good holding; uneven depths because the harbour silts; water at the pier; swell from NW. Expect the strong afternoon thermal ("Eric") to blow down the bay. Ferries run to Fiskardo (Kefalonia) and Frikes (Ithaca) and water taxis to Porto Katsiki and Agiofili. Port police and a health centre in town. Sailingissues recommends Yacht Cafe Bar and Batzanakias taverna.
