Spetses Old Harbour (Baltiza)

37° 15.8′ N · 23° 10.0′ E

A deep natural inlet behind Spetses' eastern cape where wooden caiques are still built on the slipways, ringed by bars, tavernas and mansions, with the Panagia Armata chapel and the lighthouse at its mouth — the island's yacht harbour.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM 'Spetses creek anchorage' pin in Baltiza creek. Visiting charter yachts mostly find a spot at or north of the Panagia Armata pier near the east side of the entrance; the second option is across the inlet, at or south of Agios Nikolaos church, with a line ashore — mind the sunken chain running perpendicular to the ballasted mole. Both areas get NW winds and water-taxi wash; prevailing winds are SE near the ports and E further out. The Municipal Port Fund's 2025 berthing zones (Decision 26/2025) allocate the outer Old Harbour quays to transiting boats by size: up to three 15–25 m yachts at the end of the Tsaldari pier; small transiting boats along the quays to the end of the beach and between the second quay corner and the pier opposite Liotrivi; 15–25 m yachts from the end of the beach to the second quay corner; 25–50 m yachts from the Liotrivi pier to the cape before the Ioannou house; small boats again to the pier opposite the Bikini restaurant. Pier heads and the floating pontoon (plus 5 m each side) are for embarking only; the inner creek is reserved for local and professional boats, with a provisioning berth south of the inner floating pontoon. Water and power from prepaid-card pillars: €20 per m³ water and €2.20 per kW power incl. VAT (2025), €13 refundable card deposit — from the Port Fund (tel +30 22980 75025). In peak August the Port Fund has announced the harbours completely full and asked visitors to call the Spetses Port Police before arriving. Fuel: OSM maps a fuel berth at the south end of the creek. The harbour-front walk to Dapia takes about 30 minutes; the coast road is closed to vehicles on summer evenings.
